Ever since the first pair of skis made their appearance in Kitzbuhel, Austria has been at the forefront of winter sports development. In the country that invented ski school, the standard of instruction is high and most instructors have a good command of English.
With the important exception of St Anton, most of the skiing is best for beginners and intermediates but advanced skiers love the long runs that are the mainstay of Austrian mountain terrain.
