Few of the world’s great ski areas excite the imagination more than Val d’Isere. The world has larger areas, prettier towns and better apres-ski resorts, but nothing compares to the sheer quality, quantity and variety of ski terrain.
Despite the large scale of the resort the the :train Rouge” bus service runs every few minutes, therefore skiing in two or three different areas in one day appears seamless. Val d’Isere offers varied skiing from nursery slopes and wide cruising runs to steep moguls and vast areas of deep snow terrain.
Queuing never seems to be too much of a problem as there are 8 ways to access the skiing.
The home of Jean Claude Killy, Val d’Isere, like the famous skier, is a town that takes its skiing seriously.
Val d’Isere is also linked to Tignes both by a regular ski bus service and by an amazingly extensive interconnecting lift system, opening up a huge area of skiing.
