SILVERSTAR MOUNTAIN RESORT

It’s all natural here. Uncrowded slopes and natural terrain. You’ll find what you are looking for, regardless of your ability. Do your skiing or riding across over 3,000 acres, from groomed cruisers to the Putnam Creek steeps and into the silver Woods glades. Silver Star averages more than 700 cm of snow annually (23 feet) so this ensures there is plenty of fresh powder and groomed runs for you every day. The South-facing Vance Creek area features gentle slopes and expertly groomed cruisers, serviced by the Comet Express six-pack chairlift. Once you have warmed up, try Putnam Creek, renowned for its deep powder, challenging black and double black diamond terrain and winch groomed slopes. Silver Star also has a terrain park, and it is rated one of the best in western Canada…TELUS Park.

Enjoy cross-country skiing? Well, members of numerous national teams, including Canada and the U.S., will tell you Silver Star’s 105km of Nordic trails are among their favorites.

You can easily fall in love with Silver Star’s fairy tale village. Inspired by a typical nineteenth-century British Columbian mining town era with Victorian architecture, this town is a true winter wonderland. Brightly coloured shop fronts and boarded sidewalks provide a unique ambience that radiates the whole family’s fun, enthusiasm and excitement. There are more than 3,300 beds on-mountain, mostly ski-in, ski-out hotels, condos and some unique Victorian-style vacation homes. Silver Star’s colourful Victorian-style village is complemented by a selection of restaurants, bars, cafes, winter activities and weekly events. Six retail shops, ski rentals, repair, and lessons are available.

The National Altitude Training Centre features a theatre, indoor rock-climbing wall, fitness Centre and sports medicine facilities. Family activities and après ski choices are endless and the unique Star Kids program and daycare for ages 18 months and up are first-rate.
