Sun Peaks is a resort community in the heart of British Columbia and the second largest ski area in Canada with 4,270 acres of downhill terrain.  Encircled by three mountains, at Sun Peaks’ core is a European-inspired, car-free village, featuring +40 locally-owned restaurants and boutique shops. Deep steeps, long cruisers, incredible tree skiing and an enormous terrain park offer a remarkably diverse alpine experience. Whether you’re looking for corduroy groomers, champagne powder, challenging moguls or a 10-acre top-to-bottom Terrain Park, Sun Peaks is sure to deliver.

Following a day on the slopes, the most difficult decision is whether to continue the adventure with a snowshoe or dogsled tour, head to the lake for an ice fishing excursion, or pamper yourself at the local spa and savour the taste of the region’s finest wine paired with BC-inspired cuisine. If you’re still looking for more thrills, Sun Peaks has a long list of additional activities including a lift-access tube park, ice skating rink, and snowmobile tours.  The Sun Peaks Kids Centre continues to offer daily childminding and activity nights seven days a week.

From the outside, Sun Peaks may look like a European transplant, but inside, it is 100% Canadian—disarmingly friendly, unwaveringly inclusive and instinctively open-hearted, offering real experiences served up by independent business owners and operators who call this place home, and live to share its gifts.

Vail deserves it billing as one of the world’s premier ski resorts.  At seven miles wide, finding fresh tracks is easy, in fact on an average day, there are only two skiers per acre and on a busy day, only four!  The front side of Vail Mountain is served by a superb and modern network of mainly high speed detachable lifts and has terrain for all abilities.

Vail is a large ski town with a distinctive European Alpine character, made up of 3 base areas; Vail Village, Lionshead and Golden Peak.  These are mostly pedestrian and feature a wide array of shops and over 75 restaurants and bars.  The apres-ski is exceptional.  In addition there are numerous other activities like snowmobiling, dog sledding, sleigh rides and ice skating to name a few.

Furano is one of Japans’s most famous ski resorts, although relatively little is known about it outside of Japan.  Situated in the middle of Hokkaido, Furano benefits from Siberian storm systems that pass over the Sea of Japan and then dump the lightest and driest snow in all of Hokkaido – and 9 meters of it each season.  After a big snowfall, there is often untracked powder for days.  Furano has an abundance of varied terrain for every level of skier and snowboarder.  Ask about our Family Package Specials.
